Do You Accept Insurance?

Travis E. Frye MA, LPC and Crossroads' staff of expert therapists are considered out-of-network providers on most insurance plans. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you for part of the cost of therapy. Call your insurance company's customer service number to see if you have this type of benefit. Just ask them if you have out-of-network benefits and if the benefit can be used for counseling services. They can also tell you what percentage will be reimbursed and how much deductible, if any, you will need to meet. I'll be happy to provide you with the type of receipt you'll need to submit to your insurance company. Finally, please note that most insurance companies DO NOT reimburse for marital counseling services. You must contact your specific insurance company to learn of their policy regarding payment and/or reimbursement for marital counseling services.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Forms of payment accepted are cash, check, and credit/debit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) card processing. Payment is due each session.

How many sessions will I need?

Length of sessions depends on several factors such as the level of distress in a marriage, relationship, family, or individual. However, research on the success of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy appears to move couples from distress to recovery in 10-15 sessions for 70-75% of cases, and creates improvements in 90% of couples coming in for therapy. EFT has been used with many different types of couples in private practice, university training centers and hospital clinics. These distressed couples include partners suffering from disorders such as depression, post- traumatic stress, and chronic illness.

Twenty positive controlled outcome studies have been done on EMDR.

Some of the studies show that 84%-90% of single-trauma victims no longer have post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD after only three 90-minute sessions. Another study, funded by the HMO Kaiser Permanente, found that 100% of the single-trauma victims and 77% of multiple trauma victims no longer were diagnosed with PTSD after only six 50-minute sessions. In another study, 77% of combat veterans were free of PTSD in 12 sessions. There has been so much research on EMDR that it is now recognized as an effective form of treatment for trauma and other disturbing experiences by organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association and the Department of Defense. Given the worldwide recognition as an effective treatment of trauma, you can easily see how EMDR would be effective in treating the “everyday” memories that are the reason people have low self-esteem, feelings of powerlessness, and all the myriad problems that bring them in for therapy. Over 70,000 clinicians throughout the world use EMDR therapy. Millions of people have been treated successfully over the past 20 years.
